Terms of Use

Effective date: October 2, 2026

These Terms govern your use of mastersofspine.com (the "Site"), operated by Masters Spine Center, LLC, doing business as Masters Spine Institute ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

The Site does not give medical advice

Everything on this Site, including the articles, the videos, the candidacy questionnaire, and the assistant, is general education. It is not medical advice, and it is not a diagnosis.

Do not make a decision about your care based on this Site alone. Only a physician who has examined you and reviewed your imaging can tell you what is appropriate for you.

If you are having a medical emergency, call 911. Do not use this Site, the chat, or an upload link to report an emergency. We do not monitor them continuously.

Warning signs that need immediate care rather than a web form include sudden weakness in your arms or legs, loss of bladder or bowel control, difficulty walking that comes on quickly, or severe sudden neck pain after an injury.

Using the Site does not make you our patient

Submitting the questionnaire, uploading imaging, using the chat, or exchanging email with us does not create a physician and patient relationship. That relationship begins only when you and a physician at our practice agree to it, in a consultation, and it is documented.

Until then, nothing we tell you through the Site is a treatment recommendation, and nothing you tell us obligates us to accept you as a patient.

What the questionnaire actually does

The questionnaire helps us decide whether a conversation makes sense. It is a screening step, not an evaluation.

If your answers suggest you may be a candidate, we will contact you to arrange a consultation. If they suggest you may not be, a member of our team still reviews your submission and responds. In either case, the outcome of the questionnaire is not a medical opinion, and a result either way does not guarantee or rule out anything.

The assistant

The Site includes an AI assistant. It answers general questions and points you to articles and videos.

It is software. It can be wrong, it can be incomplete, and it is not a clinician. It does not diagnose, it does not decide candidacy, and it does not speak for your physician. Do not rely on it for a decision about your health. If something it tells you matters to you, confirm it with us directly.

We do not give the assistant your name, your contact details, or your health answers.

Imaging you send us

If we invite you to upload imaging, these terms apply.

You confirm that the study is yours, or that you have the legal authority to share it. Upload links are private and expire and expire. Do not share yours.

We will review what you send in order to assess your case, and we will store it securely. Sending us imaging does not obligate us to provide a formal radiology interpretation, a written report, or a second opinion, and it does not by itself make you our patient.

We cannot guarantee that an internet upload is free of risk. If you would rather send a disc or a drive by mail, contact us and we will arrange it.

No guarantee of outcome

Cervical disc replacement is surgery. Outcomes vary between patients, and no procedure works for everyone.

Nothing on this Site, in our advertising, or in any conversation with our team is a promise of a particular result, a specific level of pain relief, a recovery timeline, or a return to any activity. Patient experiences described on the Site are individual experiences and are not a prediction of yours.

Statistics and figures on the Site describe the procedure, the published literature, or our practice's experience generally. They are not a forecast for your case.

Fees and insurance

Masters Spine Institute operates on a direct-pay basis. Fees are quoted to you before treatment. Where the Site refers to travel or lodging arrangements, those terms are confirmed with you individually in writing, and what appears on the Site is a general description rather than a binding offer.

Your responsibilities

When you use the Site, you agree to give us accurate information, to use it only for your own health inquiry or for someone you are authorized to act for, and not to attempt to access parts of the Site that are not open to you, interfere with its operation, or submit anything unlawful or harmful.

Our content

The text, design, photography, video, and other material on the Site belong to us or our licensors. You may read it, print it, and share a link to it for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not republish it, sell it, or use it to train a machine learning model without our written permission.

"Masters Spine Institute" and "The Masters Standard" are our marks.

Third-party material

The Site links to and embeds material hosted elsewhere, including video. We do not control those services, and their terms and privacy practices are their own. A link is not an endorsement.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we handle it. Our Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice covers rights under Washington's My Health My Data Act. If you are a patient, our Notice of Privacy Practices governs your medical record.

Availability

We try to keep the Site working and accurate. We do not promise it will always be available, error free, or current. We may change, suspend, or remove any part of it, including the assistant and the upload feature, at any time.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site, and our total liability arising from the Site is limited to one hundred dollars.

Nothing in this section limits our liability for the professional medical care we actually provide to a patient, for gross negligence, for willful misconduct, or for anything that cannot be limited under Utah law. Your rights as a patient are not affected by these Terms.

Indemnity

If you use the Site in a way that breaks these Terms or the law and that causes a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs in dealing with it.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute about the Site will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Utah, and you agree to that venue.

This section applies to disputes about the Site. It does not apply to a dispute about medical care, which is governed by Utah law on health care claims.

Changes

We may update these Terms. The date at the top will change, and continuing to use the Site after that means you accept the update. If a change is significant, we will say so on the Site.
